The next thing you can do to limit your impact when it comes to microplastics is to avoid synthetic clothes. You shouldn’t buy them, so make sure that the clothes you want to buy are not made from any synthetic material. Instead, you can start using eco-friendly clothes that are made with natural materials. There are also brands that are friendly to our oceans and can clean them out of microplastics at the same time. You can find these brands if you do ample research to keep yourself informed and make the right decision in the future.

Think of a Flexitarian Approach

Since many everyday foods are contaminated with microplastics, which includes seafood, meat, and fruits & veggies, you might want to start limiting your consumption. It doesn’t mean you should go vegan, but it’s better to be more flexible and find out which food items have zero or the lowest microplastics in them. You can start by looking for fruits and vegetables that are not contaminated by microplastics. Plus, you can limit your use of salt since 90% of salt brands across the globe have microplastics in them too. Becoming mindful of what you eat is necessary if you want to avoid microplastics altogether.
